About us

Our restaurant De Halve Maen is located in the authentic centre of Aalsmeer. Situated 10 minutes' drive from Schiphol Airport and 20 minutes' drive from Amsterdam, we are open for dinner from Thursday to Monday. 

Classic French

Our classic French cuisine has been under the guidance of chef Sjaak Mooij since its opening in 1987. All dishes are prepared with care and daily fresh products. Besides a fixed (seasonal) menu, we also have a lot of daily changing dishes. We will be happy to tell you this at the table. Do you like surprises and trust our chef completely? Then give Sjaak 'carte blanche' and let us surprise you with four or five courses.

Historie

Our restaurant is located in the Dorpsstraat, the oldes street in Aalsmeer, and owes its name to an 'inn' that was located on the Dorpsstraat centuries ago. 'De Halve Maen' - also written with two letters 'a' (Maan), was reffered to as an 'inn', indicating the possibility to spend the night there. Today, you can no longer stay overnight with us, but you can have a delicious dinner.  

Festive and business

A festive or business dinner with a large group? We are happy to arrange that too. Come together with friends, family or colleagues to enjoy a dinner where extensive dining is central or choose a dinner in a more informal setting. Contact us to discuss the possibilities.
